Colorado Springs, 26 Sep to 7 Oct

More blessings… not in the order in which they occured

  1. Annabelle and her uncle Philip (her Dad) picked us up from the airport
  2. She made yummy barbecued pork ribs
  3. The next day, she took us to the home of Chandran and Jennifer which became home for us for most of our stay there
  4. We were given the whole basement to ourselves! It was a complete apartment
  5. Some of the fun things at the family home… Jared did a midget impersonation (he was funny!), Candice showed us her pogo stick and somersaults on the trampoline, Justin gave us lots of hugs and liked to kiss and rub noses with Mum, Chandran grilled burgers which we ate at their porch. On another day, we had pizza at the porch. Jennifer took care of our meals and laundry.
  6. Jennifer took us to a thrift store and also a US$1 shop
  7. I gave a little spider man toy to Justin which thrilled him no end (wonderful it takes so little to make him happy!)
  8. Paul Hensley got us booked for two nights at Glen Eyrie. We were privileged to be be given General William Jackson Palmer’s room. When we got to our room, we discovered it was cordoned to keep people from going in — guests can only look in, but we got to stay in the room. The room was filled with things from Palmer’s time… bed (yes his bed), bathtub (amazing tub… took me a while to dare to use it, telephone… We took a castle tour – the place has such a rich history
  9. We enjoyed God’s creation, strolling down the lawn of the Glen, seeing the rabbits, turkeys, big horn sheep, chipmunks, deer, rose garden
  10. On one of the nights, Paul brought us a kebabs Palestinian dinner (God’s timely provision as we hadn’t made any arrangements for it)
  11. We had dinner at the Hensleys
  12. We had three very good visits with Ruth Myers. Mum gave her a sweater which she loved – it was the colour she wanted!
  13. On our first visit, we took her to Souper Salads
  14. We didn’t have a car there, but God gracious provided different ones. I wanted to visit the Navigator International Office – God arranged it for me without my doing anything about it. Terie Kilgore showed us around the place – so impressive. I got to met Margie Barnes, Lindy Wiseman, Paula
  15. I also got to visit the US office – Dean Ridings took me around
  16. Paul took us to see the Aspens, visit Cripple Creek, Victor Town, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado
  17. At Old Colorado, we got to shop at a goodwill store and the Salvation Army. We also had a nice soup / bread lunch
  18. We ate at Hungry Bears cafe – which is like an old cowboy place
  19. I made a decision NOT to go to Pikes Peak which turned out to be a good decision because we found out later that the trip up would have been too much for Mum – cold – difficult to breathe because the air is thin – the view from up there although beautiful is totally dependent on the unpredictable weather
  20. Christine, wife of Navigator President, took the trouble to phone us – we didn’t manage to meet
  21. We got a big shock when I realised at the airport that I had made a mistake with the flight time. We had to fly off the next day (7th instead of the 6th). We got to the Singapore exactly when it turned midnight of October 8 –  my birthday
  22. Annabelle was quick to come a get us at the airport – we stayed with her a night. She was happy because she had wanted us to stay at her home. It all worked out well. We got to eat at a nice cowboy restaurant that night. We also got to do more shopping
  23. We got to meet Randy and Marilyn, Doug and Jean (dinner), Sue Kline, Kent Wilson, Dave Greshem, Dave Bullard, the PRT team – Terri and Dave Legg, Laurie and Larry Hardie, Elaine
  24. God arranged our time such that Sandy from New Zealand was there too. We had a communicators fellowship — Sandy, Selva (I got to meet her husband Clyde), Kelly and Joice
  25. Randy and Marilyn said they had written to invite me to stay at their home (I didn’t get the mail… how wonderfu. I’ll keep that in mind the next time I visit!)
  26. We met Tom Horn who had lived seven years in Singapore. He showed us his son’s wedding pictures – he married a Singaporean
  27. I got to talk to JoanneRay and cousin Dennis Nelson on the phone

So much to thank God for.
