The little girl in her
I got back from Cebu about 24 hours ago. I don’t even know where to begin to blog about the past month… the trip to the USA was fantastic, the trip to Cebu was so fulfilling. The most outstanding for me is spending time with Mum and observing all the beyond-imagination things that God is doing in her. She’s like a little girl discovering a whole new world.
Here’s a video I made for her.
I had a lot of fun being with her today…
Mum called this morning to find out if I had come back and how I was doing after the trip. She then offered to bring lunch for me. She called again a few minutes after hanging up, this time asking if she could buy grocery to stock up my ref.
This is the dialogue I had with Au about Mum…
angel: she’s still talking abt the trip. so fun. we laughed a lot.
angel: she brought your cough mixture
au: wow
angel: and also bought veges – lettuce – she said you dun like other kinds of veges, but this one you will eat. lol
angel: so cute
angel: she didn’t even ask me to go to her house! she said see u on sunday. cos she knows i got lots to do. wow.
(This is so unlike her. Most of the time, she doesn’t realise how tired I am and just insist that I be the one to go over to her place to see her.)
During our visit in Colorado Springs, while Ruth Myers (more about our trip later) was praying for our return trip to Singapore, Mum had felt a warm sensation passing from Ruth’s hands into hers and then into her chest. “It felt like the sun was shinning on me, but when I opened my eyes, I didn’t see anything.”
angel: someone told her that she rec’d the holy spirit when she told them abt ruth’s prayer and the hot feeling she got in her chest.
angel: last sunday, her church bulletin published an article abt paul telling timothy that he was to use the gift he had received and that he was to lay hands and bless others so that they could pass on the gift he had rec to others. the article explained that gift was the holy spirit.
angel: so now she said she wants to pray so others can rec the gift she rec’d.
Mum said that she did just that with the grandchildren last Sunday.
angel: her stepsister (aunty RA) told her abt her family problems with her mother (mum’s stepmother).
Au: wow
angel: mum said aunty RA’s family in a mess right now. aunty RA told her that she went to the novena to pray. mum told her that she shud pray to Jesus! that she should ask jesus into her heart!!!
angel: amazing
Au: wow
Au: yeah, amazing
Au: praise God for what he is doing in her life!
Mum made her initial connection with God through the Novena services in her late teens or early twenties when she was going through a crisis in her life. It was there that she found help. Her allegiance to Mother Mary is something she would fight tooth and nail to defend. So for her to encourage aunty RA to turn to Jesus is amazing.
angel: we compared notes and laughed when we shared how we keep sleeping at anytime. hehehe.
angel: but she said that it was worth the trip

angel: she’s so amazing – God is so amazing
Au: yeah

For my trip to Cebu, Mum asked me to deliver a gift to Au’s sister Espie to help with her fare to Canada. (Espie has a job there but not able to go because she doesn’t yet have the money for the fare.)
angel: she told me that something told her to give espie the money.
Au: oh
angel: while we were away, she (Mum) received money fm the share!
angel: she also doesnt know how that came about
angel: so it convinced her even more that we were meant to go for the trip.

angel: she also kept saying that it was God who made us delay our stay in colorado springs another nite.
angel: and that she actually felt it was a blessing
Au:
angel: lol. on the one hand, she says she has enough of travelling, then the next minute, she will be saying, “next time” or “our next trip”…
Au:
hehe
angel: i forgot her exact words but she said something to the effect, “wow, now i hv the holy spirit in me. i cannot do anything i like or live any way i want.”
angel: when God touches a person, you know it
Au: ya

It’s good to be home… another new year
Flight UA 803 parked into the Changi Airport bay at exactly 12 am today. What an interesting way to start my new year. I had scheduled to return home from our (Mum and I) Tokyo~San Francisco~Colorado Springs trip on 7 Oct but missed my flight home!
It’s been a tiring but fantastic trip. Will blog and post photos after I’ve sorted them out. In the meantime… thanks for all your prayers.
It’s good to be home.
